Salone Internazionale del Mobile is a design festival held in Milan every year, usually in April, in the FieraMilano complex in the Milan metropolitan area. This festival is a chance for renowned designers from world over to show off their designs. The event was held from April 22 to 27 this month and as usual produced some goodies.
Giorgio Armani’s unveiled a concept kitchen called Calyx this time which was produced by the Armani Casa wing in partnership with Dada.
Armani calls it Calyx the “disappearing kitchen” because it is actually possible to conceal the working area of the kitchen behind its wide doors, thus creating an extremely discreet environment. The kitchen is made from an ensemble of wood veneer, glass and woven metal. The interiors of the doors and the cladding of the whole interior vertical surface of the kitchen are created in plain silver colour techno fabric, covered with panels of glass. The stone top is in total black. Dark green is the choice for shelves and interior of the drawers.
